    Name: Geary Callan

Q: Where in NOAA do you work now?
    A:

Q: When did you begin your work with NOAA?
    A:
About January 1970. NESS was part of ESSA then, but was soon reorganized to NOAA.

    A:
The launch of the first of the GOES satellites, then the utilization of the data.

Q: From your point of view, what have been the most significant changes NOAA has experienced during the past 30 years?
    A:
The change in computing power, going from punch cards and the CDC 6600 to the RISC and PC technology today.
