    Name: John Curran

Q: Where in NOAA do you work now?
    A:
     National Weather Service, Indianapolis, IN.

Q: When did you begin your work with NOAA?
    A:
Weather Bureau Airport Station, Omaha Nebraska, as a Student Trainee, Summer 1961.

Q: Looking back, what events stand out as the most memorable during your time with NOAA?
    A:
Working as a Severe Local Storms Analyst and Computer Programmer from 1968 to 1972. Our computer was a Control Data Corporation 3200...it is amazing looking back what we were able to do with 16K, that's "K", not "M," of memory. Every technological advance in the meantime, satellites, radar, Doppler radar, AFOS, ASOS, and AWIPS have been memorable. But, most memorable are the dedicated, hard working individuals in the National Weather Service.

Q: From your point of view, what have been the most significant changes NOAA has experienced during the past 30 years?
    A:
The technology listed above and the transition from a top down management style to a bottom up synergistic team orientated workforce.
