    Name: Kathleen Downs

Q: Where in NOAA do you work now?
    A:
I work in the National Marine Fisheries Service, Office of Operations, Management and Information, OM1.

Q: When did you begin your work with NOAA?
    A:
I started with NOAA on June 22, 1970

Q: Looking back, what events stand out as the most memorable during your time with NOAA?
    A:
The most memorable event, on a personel level, is being selected to fill a budget position under the Upward Mobility Program. The most memorable event, on a NOAA level, is seeing a majority of Headquarters located in the NOAA Silver Spring complex. This was something that I remember hearing about in 1972. I think that it's amazing that it actually happened.

Q: From your point of view, what have been the most significant changes NOAA has experienced during the past 30 years?
    A:
I believe the most significant changes in NOAA is how computers have changed how we process information, and how email and websites have affected how we disseminate and obtain information.
