    NOAA scientists spend up to nine hours flying NOAA's hurricane hunter aircraft through a hurricane to gather data to improve the knowledge which provides warnings for public safety: http://www.aoml.noaa.gov

    NOAA Developed a Scale to Measure the Intensity of Solar Storms in order to issue warnings on how they may affect humans on earth and in space: http://www.sec.noaa.gov

    NOAA's National Sea Grant College Program studies various coastal and marine issues, including aquaculture, harmful algal blooms, beaches, biotechnology, and climate and hazards: http://www.oar.noaa.gov.nsgo

    NOAA's Ocean Buoys in the equatorial Pacific Ocean collected the data needed to forecast El Nino six months in advance. Additional buoys are gathering data to better understand the effects of ocean currents and temperatures and the role they play in our weather patterns: http://www.pmel.noaa.go
